Job Description:
Sports Coach and Martial Arts Instructor - Martial X Academy – Woking, Surrey
About Martial X Academy
Martial X Academy is a leading kickboxing academy based in Woking, delivering high-quality coaching across all levels — from complete beginners through to competitive athletes.
Our programmes are structured, progressive, and built around a fully graded syllabus, supporting students on their journey from first class to black belt and beyond. We are proud to have World Champion athletes on our coaching team and offer a training environment that is focused, supportive, and welcoming.
As an academy, we are active on the national competitive circuit, attending events on a monthly basis, and regularly collaborate with other leading clubs and associations for squad training, development, and knowledge-sharing.
The Role
We are looking for a Sports Coach and Martial Arts Instructor to join our coaching team in Woking.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about coaching, who enjoys working with a range of ages and abilities, and can bring energy, structure, and personality to every session.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver high-quality kickboxing classes (you would work from our syllabus and lesson plans) across a range of age groups (children, teens, and adults)
*Create a positive, engaging, fun and disciplined training environment
*Support students through our graded syllabus and development pathway
*Coach and support students at competitions (local and national events)
*Contribute to squad training sessions and inter-club development opportunities
*Uphold the standards and values of Martial X Academy at all times
*Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the wider team
What We’re Looking For
*Ideally, have a strong kickboxing, Taekwondo, Karate, MMA, or Muay Thai background (competitive experience desirable but not essential)
*A confident, engaging presence on the mats — someone who brings energy and personality to sessions
*Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
*Reliable, professional, and well-organised
*Passion for developing students and being part of their journey
*A team player who is keen to be involved in the wider growth of the academy
What We Offer
*Competitive pay (based on experience)
*Free training at Martial X Academy
*Free training for immediate family members (subject to terms and conditions)
*Opportunities to coach at competitions and be part of a nationally active team
*Ongoing development through squad training, inter-club collaboration, and exposure to high-level coaching
*A supportive, professional environment with clear structure and progression
Growth & Development
As Martial X Academy continues to grow, we are expanding our work with schools, charities, and community programmes. This creates potential for additional daytime coaching opportunities for those who are interested.
This is a role that can grow with you — offering increased hours, responsibility, and involvement as the academy continues to develop.
Additional Information
*Part-time hours (evenings and weekends)
*Based in Woking, Surrey
*Flexibility required around competitions and academy events
