Role: Legal Assistant - Property
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000
Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy Residential Conveyancing team. This is a key support role, working closely with Conveyancers to ensure property transactions progress smoothly and clients are kept informed at every stage.
The role is primarily office-based, with the possibility of occasional remote working where required.
Key Responsibilities*
Supporting fee-earners with a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion
*
Preparing and issuing initial client care documentation promptly
*
Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and mortgage lenders throughout the transaction process
*
Carrying out property searches and assisting with client onboarding procedures
*
Providing administrative support, including file management and data entry
*
Proactively monitoring file progression and following up on outstanding matters
*
Ensuring all files are maintained in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
*
Delivering a high standard of client service through clear communication and regular updates
Candidate Requirements*
Previous experience in a conveyancing or similar legal support role (essential)
*
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
*
Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines under pressure
*
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*
Confident IT skills, ideally with experience using legal case management systems
*A professional, friendly, and approachable manner with a strong client-focused approach
