Job Description:
Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded professional membership organisation for an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Finance team on a three month temporary assignment, supporting a critical year-end period.
This role will provide hands-on support across statutory reporting, year-end close activity, and the annual external audit. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring balance sheet accuracy, and supporting the wider Finance team to meet tight deadlines across the core entity and its trading subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support the production of year-end statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
*Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments
*Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is in place
*Manage intercompany balances and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
*Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements
*Prepare audit schedules and act as a key point of contact for external auditors
*Respond effectively to audit queries and ensure information is provided accurately and on time
*Work with internal stakeholders and budget holders to obtain financial information as required
*Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support year-end and audit activity
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*Part-qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
*Strong background in financial accounting, including year-end and audit support
*Proven experience completing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
*Confident working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail
*Organised, proactive, and collaborative in approach

Pay rate: £200 - £215 per day (Umbrella, inside IR35)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
