Location: Glasgow
Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)
First Achieve is seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. This role combines fabrication design with on-site surveying, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design work and practical.
What You’ll Do*Produce detailed fabrication drawings and designs based on client requirements
*Visit client sites to carry out surveys, take accurate measurements, and assess project needs
*Liaise directly with clients to clarify specifications and ensure design accuracy
*Work closely with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
*Support projects from concept through to production and installation
What We’re Looking For*Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within fabrication or manufacturing
*Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
*Strong attention to detail, particularly when conducting site measurements
*Willingness to travel to client sites as part of the role
*Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients
*Full UK driving licence
