Job Description:
Permanent Vacancy - Legal Cashier
*Location: High Wycombe (onsite)
*Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
*Contract: Permanent, full-time
We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join a friendly, fast-paced Accounts & Finance team. You will work within a dedicated cashiering team responsible for the efficient handling of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, and supporting the wider organisation with accurate and timely financial information.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
*Daily posting of client receipts (bank transfer, credit card, cheque).
*Issuing client payments via BACS and CHAPS.
*Processing client disbursements.
*Managing client balances in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
*Preparing and reviewing completion statements and estate accounts.
*Performing daily client bank reconciliations and resolving unreconciled items.
*Supporting month-end processes including bills and credit notes.
*Managing purchase ledger posting and scheduling supplier payments.
*Conducting month-end supplier ledger reviews to ensure timely payment in line with agreed terms.
Experience & Skills
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in legal cashiering.
*Strong billing knowledge, including VAT treatment on disbursements.
*Solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
*Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
