Job Description:

As Head of Cash and Banking you will play an instrumental role in shaping the strategic direction of cash management activities within a dynamic blue chip organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with senior stakeholders company wide to deliver seamless banking administration, optimise liquidity positions, and uphold rigorous standards of compliance.
*Develop and execute the overall Cash and Banking strategy in alignment with organisational financial objectives, risk appetite, and operational goals.
*Lead, coach, and nurture teams responsible for cash operations, treasury support, reconciliations, payments processing, and banking administration to foster a culture of service excellence.
*Establish clear KPIs and performance standards to drive continuous improvement across all cash-related processes while maintaining rigorous control frameworks.
*Act as the subject matter expert for cash management across legal services and insurance operations, providing guidance on best practices and regulatory requirements.
*Oversee daily cash positioning to ensure sufficient liquidity for both operational needs and strategic projects while managing short-term cashflow forecasting in partnership with finance leaders.
*Manage the full lifecycle of bank account administration including opening/closing accounts, signatory management and compliance, and adherence to the companies’ regulations.
*Optimise banking platforms, payment gateways, and digital tools to enhance efficiency while supporting commercial negotiations related to bank fee structures.
*Drive automation across payment workflows and batch processing to streamline operations while ensuring segregation of duties and compliance with delegated authority matrices.
*Lead audit activities relating to cash and banking controls while maintaining strong documentation, process maps, controls testing protocols, and supporting ERP/banking system optimisation.
To excel as Head of Cash and Banking you will bring substantial experience managing complex treasury operations within regulated sectors.
*Extensive experience leading teams within Cash Management, Treasury Operations or Banking Administration functions-ideally gained within a blue chip organisation.
*Proven technical expertise in areas such as cashflow forecasting, multi-entity banking systems implementation/optimisation.
*Demonstrated track record improving efficiency in cash processing workflows through automation or Lean methodologies whilst strengthening fraud prevention measures.
*Excellent communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels-including finance leadership teams-and provide clear guidance on complex regulatory matters.
*Strong analytical abilities allowing you to monitor working capital movements closely; identify emerging risks; develop actionable insights from dashboards/KPIs; support commercial negotiations around bank fees or platform enhancements.
*Experience overseeing full lifecycle bank account administration.
*A degree in Finance/Accounting/Business (or related field) supported by professional qualifications such as ACCA/CIMA/ACA/AMCT; ACT/AMCT treasury certifications highly desirable; additional training in fraud prevention/risk management/Lean Six Sigma considered beneficial.
*A customer-focused approach aligned with the expectations of legal services clients/insurance partners-demonstrating empathy when resolving issues or supporting accounts receivable teams in achieving clean ledgers/cashflow visibility.
