We are working closely with a Thirsk-based business to appoint a Financial Controller to the business. This is a new position in the business where you will be reporting to an FD, while overseeing and mentoring a small team to support and ensure smooth processes across AP, AR, VAT, Banking, Payroll, monthly closing, and both internal and statutory reporting.
The role can be part-time across 3-4 days, or full-time for the right person. There is also the additional benefit of hybrid working.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
*Review and authorisation of BACS payment run
*Bank reconciliations
*Cashflow analysis and forecasting
*VAT review, reconciliation and quarterly returns
*Payroll review and exception reporting
*Accounting system maintenance and management, including journal postings
*Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations preparation
*Assisting the AP & AR function at month-end
*Be part of the project management and implementation of new software
*Statutory reporting – Year-end Audit assistance
Criteria:
*Be CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified
*Be a confident user of Sage 50 and have advanced Excel skills
*Proven people management experience
