Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Multimodal Operator to join a well-established logistics provider based in the Sunbury-on-Thames area. Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-driven individual to manage end-to-end shipments across multiple transport modes, ensuring all operations are completed efficiently and in line with customs regulations.
Position: Multimodal Operator
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Key Responsibilities for a Multimodal Operator:
*Manage shipments from start to finish across import and export operations
*Coordinate multi-modal transport movements where required
*Complete and submit customs entries using CDS in line with current regulations
*Liaise with clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment flow
*Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is compliant
*Handle any issues or delays proactively, providing solutions and updates to clients
Key Skills for a Multimodal Operator:
*Minimum of 4+ years’ experience within freight forwarding or logistics
*Strong working knowledge of CDS (Customs Declaration Service)
*Ability to independently manage full-cycle shipments
*Experience with CargoWise (desirable)
*Familiarity with Descartes / e-Customs systems (advantageous)
*Understanding of multi-modal freight operations (preferred but not essential)

*21 days annual leave + bank holidays
*Annual leave increases with service up to 25 days
*Additional 1 day added every 3 years of service (up to 28 days total)
*Office-based role with occasional flexibility for remote working where required
