Payroll & HR Systems Manager
York (Hybrid)

Contract: Permanent
The Role
A dual-focused role overseeing payroll operations and HR systems within a managed payroll environment.
You’ll ensure accurate, compliant payroll delivery while driving system improvements, reporting, and data-led decision making across the People function.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage end-to-end payroll processing and liaise with external payroll providers
*Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and internal policies
*Oversee payroll system configuration, upgrades, testing, and integrations
*Administer pensions and auto-enrolment processes
*Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
*Provide payroll guidance to staff and managers
*Manage HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and effective reporting
*Support system improvements and deliver insights through data analysis
The Ideal Candidate
*Proven experience managing payroll and HR systems
*Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions, and statutory payments
*Experience with payroll systems configuration and upgrades
*Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
*High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
*Ability to manage confidential data and work collaboratively across teams
