Job Description:
Primary SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Behaviour Teaching Assistants (TAs) with Aspire People support pupils with complex behavioural, emotional, and learning needs in mainstream or special schools. Roles involve proactive management, de-escalation, 1:1 support, and implementing behaviour plans to ensure safety and inclusion, often requiring an enhanced DBS.
Key Aspects of SEND Behaviour TA Roles:
* Support & Intervention: Providing tailored support, including managing high-needs behaviour, implementing EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), and assisting with personal care.
* Behaviour Management Strategies: Using proactive techniques like positive attention, structuring activities, and de-escalation to prevent disruption.
* Role Requirements: Generally requires patience, flexibility, resilience, and often experience or qualifications in SEND/Behaviour.
* Salary and Structure: Positions are frequently full-time, term-time only, often paying around £100-£110 per day in areas like Manchester and Greater Manchester
* Collaboration: Working closely with SENDCos and teachers to create a consistent, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Proactive Support: Keeping children occupied, modifying tasks to prevent frustration, and offering consistent, positive reinforcement.
* Communication: Using calming techniques and one-to-one communication for behaviour management.
* Safety & Welfare: Ensuring physical, social, and emotional needs are met
