Technical Support Engineer
*Annual Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience)
*Location: Crawley
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide comprehensive technical troubleshooting and service support for our hardware, software, and applications. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and customer satisfaction of our products both in the UK and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or a related science discipline, with experience in analytical instrumentation.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide technical and service support for all products across OES and LIBS product lines to direct customers and the global distributor network.
*Travel within the UK and internationally to carry out installations, servicing, repairs, and on-site training.
*Deliver on-site commissioning and customer acceptance of new systems.
*Maintain accurate service and support records, including logging and managing Support Tickets via HubSpot CRM.
*Create, update, and distribute technical documentation including service notes, user manuals, and training materials.
*Track product and software issues, escalating quality concerns where required and supporting corrective solutions.
*Liaise with product specialists and attend product training at manufacturing sites as required.
*Perform technical demonstrations at the UK office, customer sites, and industry exhibitions.
*Deliver technical training to customers and distributors.
*Undertake other related duties as required to support the wider business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualification in Engineering, Physics, or a related Science discipline.
*Strong technical understanding of metallurgy and/or physics.
*At least 2 years’ hands-on field service or maintenance experience.
*Above-average computer literacy, including MS Office; experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot is desirable.
*Full, clean UK driving licence.
