Are you an enthusiastic and nurturing teacher with a passion for early learning? We are looking for a committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join our friendly and inclusive primary school in Watford from September 2026.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to teach a vibrant and curious Year 1 class at a key stage in children’s development as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will create a stimulating, engaging, and supportive learning environment where all children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
*Support pupils’ transition from EYFS to Year 1, ensuring continuity in learning and development
*Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
*Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
*Work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents/carers
*Contribute to the wider life of the school community
*Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Have experience or a strong interest in Key Stage 1 or Early Years
*Understand the importance of play-based and structured learning approaches in Year 1
*Be creative, patient, and adaptable
*Have high expectations for all pupils
*Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
*Be committed to continuous professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
