A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP on a long-term basis.
This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASC), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and develop key communication and social skills. The school has a strong SEN provision and a supportive team in place.
The Role:
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with Autism
*Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
*Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
*Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
*Help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
*Previous experience supporting children with ASC
*Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Experience within a primary or SEN setting is highly desirable
