Job Description:
Maintenance Foreman (Engineering / Site Maintenance)
Location: High Wycombe
Pay: £14.80 – £16.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Mon–Thu 07:00–16:30 (30-minute lunch) | Fri 07:00–12:30
Overtime: As required, depending on operational needs


Up to £16.50/hr | Early finish Fridays | Hands-on engineering role
If you love fault-finding and keeping a busy site running safely and smoothly, this Maintenance Foreman role is for you. You’ll support the Maintenance Manager with preventative maintenance, breakdowns and site repairs across production equipment (including CNC), plus general facilities upkeep.


The role (what you’ll be doing)
Machinery & equipment
*Routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and production equipment, including CNC machinery
*Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and control-system faults
*Coordinate and liaise with external service engineers and contractors
*Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
*Carry out and record calibration tests on measuring equipment
General site maintenance
*Repairs to buildings, roofs, doors and general site infrastructure
*Support maintenance/monitoring of heating, ventilation, extraction and compressed air systems
*Ensure safe operation and ongoing upkeep of workshop tools, equipment and utilities
*Conduct site inspections; identify hazards, defects and improvement opportunities
Leadership & coordination
*Assist the Maintenance Manager with planning, prioritising and scheduling maintenance
*Provide guidance and hands-on support to junior maintenance staff when needed
*Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures
Health, safety & compliance
*Follow company health, safety and environmental policies
*Help ensure equipment is maintained to legal/regulatory standards
*Participate in risk assessments, safety checks and incident reporting


What we’re looking for
Essential / strong experience
*General engineering background (mechanical and/or electrical/electronic)
*Strong working knowledge of machinery (woodworking equipment experience desirable)
*Confident fault-finding and problem-solving; able to work independently
*Understanding of pneumatics, compressed air systems and basic hydraulics
*Experience with property and general site maintenance
*Good communication skills for liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal teams
Desirable (nice to have)
*Formal engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds)
*Manufacturing/production environment experience
*CNC operation/maintenance experience
*Basic IT skills for maintenance logs/diagnostics
*Knowledge of health & safety legislation
*Forklift certification
