Financial Controller
Southeast York
Up to £65,000 + Benefits
(On-site | SME Manufacturing Environment)
Reed Finance are working with a well-established manufacturing business near York in the search for their next Financial Controller. This is a pivotal role where you’ll work directly with the Managing Director, acting as a key strategic sounding board and playing an essential part in driving the business forward.

The Opportunity
You’ll be accountable for the company’s full accounting operations, cash control and risk management, while shaping financial processes and supporting long-term business strategy. As part of the Senior Management Team, you’ll have real visibility and the autonomy to make meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead and oversee the full finance function, including:
Financial Leadership & Reporting
*Production of periodic financial & operational reports
*Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial controls
*Producing monthly management information within agreed timeframes
*Leading budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Strategic & Senior Leadership
*Acting as part of the Senior Management Team to support delivery of Board strategy
*Providing financial analysis for capital investments, pricing and contract decision
*Acting as a business partner across all operational teams
Financial Operations & Governance
*Designing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
*Overseeing the finance team and department structure
*Implementing KPIs for finance, including cash control and key financial measures
*Monitoring debt levels and compliance with covenants
*Reviewing operating costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities
What You’ll Bring
*Ideally manufacturing sector experience
*Strong cost-control background
*Evidence of strategic input and influencing senior leadership
*Business partnering experience within an SME
*CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification
