Job Description:
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team. This role involves preparing annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP, managing audit queries, and overseeing various financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and compliance, with a keen eye for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within financial operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and address audit queries.
*Manage the processes and reviews of external auditors’ monthly data/information requirements and the submission thereof.
*Prepare management information, including daily reporting and monthly management accounts, providing insightful and robust financial analysis.
*Oversee timely reconciliation of Nostro and Control accounts and clearance of reconciling items.
*Monitor and report on the reconciliation status of all general ledger accounts.
*Manage the processes around the submission of tax returns to HMRC, including CRS/FATCA, Corporation Tax, etc.
*Suggest enhancements to processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and assist with implementing and documenting changes.
*Provide guidance and support for the Bank’s IT transformation projects.
*Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective compliance culture within the Bank for combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and other forms of financial crime.
*Ensure compliance with all anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing procedures, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the MLRO.
*Ensure that any staff reporting to you are trained and comply with the Bank’s policies and procedures regarding money laundering detection and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in financial accounting and management.
*Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and experience dealing with financial compliance and audits.
*Experience in managing tax submissions and understanding of CRS/FATCA and Corporation Tax.
*Ability to lead IT transformation projects and process enhancements.
*Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team.
*Commitment to maintaining high compliance standards and knowledge of AML regulations.
