Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a HGV Driver for our client a government organisation in Bedford.
The successful post holder will drive both LGV and non LGV vehicles collecting and delivering waste and recycling containers from domestic and trade properties. Including collecting and delivering of domestic and trade waste including bulky household waste and equipment containing CFC’s and loading them into suitable vehicles.
This role is a temporary contract initially for 6 months with the possibility to extend.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
*Operational duties of which will involve the collection of waste and/or recycling from household, industrial or commercial properties from a variety of locations and load onto refuse/recycling vehicle.
*On a daily basis all required departmental documentation e.g. Drivers Problem Pages, Daily Vehicle Check Sheets and in cab electronic route management systems.
*Liaise with the Senior Officer Refuse & Recycling Operations with any operational problems/missed bins etc.
*Report to the Senior Officer Refuse & Recycling Operation any damage to vehicle/plant, whilst carrying out vehicle checks which include cleansing of internal/external parts.
Personal Requirements:
*Hold a current clean driving licence which includes C Category, Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
*Must be able to show good stamina as the role may require moving bags, wheeled bins or bulky items for the working day.
*Must be able to show a high degree of awareness of the dangers associated with working continually in close proximity of the highway as well as a high degree of awareness in respect of personal health and safety in relation to manual handling, sharps, dangerous materials and substances etc.
Working Hours: 37hrs / Monday - Friday
Pay: £20.61 per hour
Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
