Job Title: Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding
Location: Southampton
Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 basic (DOE) + Uncapped Commission
About the RoleWe are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join a growing freight forwarding business based in Lutterworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven sales professional to take ownership of new business growth within a dynamic and fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities*Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the freight forwarding sector
*Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients
*Build long-term relationships with customers across key industries
*Prepare and present tailored logistics solutions to meet client needs
*Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements
*Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery
*Consistently meet and exceed revenue and margin targets
Requirements*Proven business development experience within freight forwarding is essential
*Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
*Ability to provide evidence of previous successes (figures, wins, growth achieved)
*Strong understanding of air, sea, and/or road freight services
*Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
*Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
