Job Description:
About the Role:As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil who benefits from structured routines, emotional regulation strategies, and positive behaviour support. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to help the pupil engage with learning, develop confidence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:*Provide one-to-one SEN support using COPPICE and trauma-informed approaches.
*Support emotional regulation, communication, and engagement with learning.
*Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote positive relationships.
*Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and daily classroom routines.
*Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
*Follow safeguarding and inclusion policies at all times.
Requirements:*Proven experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs.
*Experience using COPPICE or similar therapeutic/attachment-based approaches.
*A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
