Social Housing/Temporary Accommodation Manager (Property Manager)
Salary: £28k-£32k + company benefit package
Location: Brighton
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am – 17.30pm
UK driving license required
Parking space available or use of a pool car
Are you an experienced Property Manager with a background in social housing, emergency accommodation or local authority leasing?
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and professional organisation managing a portfolio of circa 150 social housing and temporary accommodation properties. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving and is passionate about delivering well-managed homes and a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
*Managing a portfolio of approximately 150 social housing and temporary accommodation properties.
*Ensuring full compliance with landlord and local authority requirements.
*Coordinating repairs, maintenance and contractor works.
*Arranging safety inspections and remedial works.
*Responding to emergency maintenance and urgent issues efficiently.
*Acting as the main point of contact for councils, tenants and contractors.
*Handling tenant queries, complaints and sensitive situations professionally.
*Conducting inspections, inventories and check-out reports.
*Managing void turnaround periods to meet strict deadlines.
*Liaising with utilities and accounts teams regarding charges and updates.
*Maintaining accurate and detailed records across the portfolio.
*Overseeing schedules of caretakers and maintenance staff.
Skills & Experience Required:
*Previous experience within social housing, temporary accommodation or local authority property management.
*Strong understanding of compliance, repairs and void management.
*Experience working with councils or supported housing providers.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Highly organised with strong administrative ability.
*Calm and professional approach to handling complaints and emergencies.
*Ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
*Proactive, hands-on and detail oriented.
*Full UK driving licence essential.
