Accountant - Interim
Location: Leicester (5 days on-site)
Rate: £175–£225 per day (Umbrella)
Duration: Minimum 6 months
We are currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a well-established, highly successful organisation on an initial 6-month temporary basis.
This position sits within a large corporate finance function and will focus on stock accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls. The role is ideal for a part-qualified (PQ+) accountant or equivalent and/or someone with strong technical accounting skills and experience working in a structured, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Preparation and completion of balance sheet reconciliations, with a focus on stock
*Posting and reviewing journals, ensuring accurate double-entry accounting
*Reviewing and validating stock quantities and costing data
*Ensuring accuracy of stock valuation and reporting
*Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies
*Maintaining robust financial controls across processes
*Supporting month-end close activities
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
*Part-qualified accountant (PQ+) or equivalent experience
*Strong understanding of double-entry accounting principles
*Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations
*Advanced Excel skills (ideal if have had exposure to SQL level)
*High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
*Experience within a large or corporate finance environment ideally with experience of stock or inventory
