Desian Education are proud to be supporting a highly inclusive and well-regarded mainstream primary school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant for a long-term contract. This is a temporary full-time position based within an SEMH designated provision.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be working in collaboration with the SENCO who is also the class teacher, promoting the emotional development and attainment of pupils with SEMH within the designated provision. Your new pupils all have the same diagnosis but do all have different needs and personalities. To ensure that each pupil is treated as the individual they are you will use a pupil-centred approach which will also ensure that their needs are at the heart of all operations. Other duties will include:
*Supporting with emotional regulation, self-esteem and well-being via ELSA
*Positive behaviour support and implementing behavioural strategies
*Speech and communication interventions
*Working in collaboration with external professionals
What you need to succeed
*Full "Right to Work" for the UK
*Experience supporting trauma and using trauma-informed methods
*Experience working with SEMH
*Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
*Relevant referenceable classroom experience
