Title: EL/PL & Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Location: Manchester City Centre (Hybrid)
A leading Legal 500 law firm is seeking an Associate to join its award winning Healthcare Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an EL/PL Solicitor to transition into Clinical Negligence and develop expertise within a market leading Defendant Clinical Negligence team acting for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and healthcare clients.
The Opportunity

You will join a nationally recognised Healthcare Litigation team specialising in Defendant Clinical Negligence and EL/PL claims. This role offers a clear pathway for an EL/PL Solicitor to gain Clinical Negligence experience, working on complex and high value claims within the healthcare sector. Alongside managing a varied caseload, you will also support junior team members and contribute to the wider growth of the department. The firm offers a highly flexible approach to hybrid working and office attendance.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing and assisting on a caseload of EL/PL and Clinical Negligence claims
*Drafting reports, witness statements and legal documents
*Interviewing witnesses and liaising with experts and Counsel
*Attending Case Management Conferences, hearings, mediations and trials
*Negotiating settlements and advising on litigation strategy
*Supporting on complex, high value Defendant Clinical Negligence matters
*Assisting with supervision and development of junior team members
*Contributing to business development and networking activity
About You
*Qualified Solicitor with experience in Defendant EL/PL or Personal Injury Litigation
*Strong interest in transitioning into Clinical Negligence
*Experience managing a litigated caseload
*Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation process
*Excellent communication, organisation and client management skills
*Proactive and commercially aware approach
