Contract Full-Stack JavaScript Developer - Node & Angular
6-month contract (extensions likely)
£400 per day – Inside IR35
60% Hybridin Newcastle
Opus is supporting a major migration programme for a UK Government department, delivered via a leading consultancy. This programme supports mission-critical services dealing with high user volumes, sensitive data, and complex business processes.
We’re hiring Node.js & Angular Engineers to play a key role in frontend modernisation and service delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Supporting and delivering a large-scale Angular migration
*Building frontend applications using Angular & TypeScript
*Developing backend services with Node.js & Express
*Writing test-driven code (Jest)
*Working within CI/CD pipelines
*Improving automation and frontend standards
*Ensuring accessibility and WCAG compliance
*Contributing to architecture and best practice across teams
Required Experience
*Strong experience with Angular (priority)
*Node.js & Express
*TypeScript
*TDD and automated testing
*CI/CD experience
*Experience working on large, complex digital platforms
*Agile delivery experience
Nice to Have
*Kubernetes or containerisation exposure (Docker)
*Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
*Public sector / government projects
*SQL / NoSQL databases, Redis
*SC eligibility (not mandatory)
