Job Description:
CNC Machinist / CNC Operator (1 Week Early/1 Week Late)
First Achieve Engineering are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Operator to join a well-established engineering business specialising in high-quality, low-volume manufacturing.

The RoleYou will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and sub-assemblies using a range of CNC and manual machine tools, working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities*Set, program, and operate CNC milling or turning machines
*Manufacture components in a low-volume, high-quality production environment
*Work to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
*Modify or manufacture tooling including jigs, fixtures, and moulds
*Inspect and verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
*Achieve production targets in line with job requirements
*Accurately log work times using ERP systems
*Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
*Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
*Identify hazards and promote safe working practices within the workshop
RequirementsEssential:
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in a CNC machining environment
*Proven experience operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
*Ability to read and interpret ISO engineering drawings
*Experience working to tight tolerances
*Competent using measuring equipment (micrometres, Vernier callipers, etc.)
*Basic IT skills
*Understanding of 5S principles
Desirable:
*Time-served apprenticeship
*Experience with CNC programming, setting, and operating
*Familiarity with controls such as:*Hurco (Winmax)
*Fanuc
*Mazatrol (Mazak)
*Siemens
