Asset Finance Associate, 3PQE+, ManchesterPURPOSE OF THE ROLE
*With new and exciting client mandates, our high performing Asset Finance team are seeking to appoint a senior associate to support the delivery of high-value, complex asset finance and leasing transactions for a diverse client base, including financial institutions and lessees/borrowers.
*You will play a key part in providing first-class legal advice on a wide range of domestic and international asset finance matters.
*Based in Manchester you will form part of our national team of experts working with clients across the UK and Internationally; you will have an opportunity to work alongside a range of partners and team members spread across AG’s offices and across numerous sectors including transport and energy.
THE TEAM
*You will join Addleshaw Goddard’s market-leading asset finance team, which is renowned for its depth of expertise and comprehensive service offering. The team acts for a broad spectrum of clients including major banks, alternative funders, corporates, and international organisations, and is supported by AG’s wider network of specialists.
*The team’s work spans all asset categories, and it is complemented by an internationally recognised aviation practice. The team’s excellence has been recognised by industry awards, including Asset Finance Legal Provider of the Year and Asset Finance Legal Team of the Year.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE ROLE
*You can expect to play a significant role in working for clients that are key to the wider finance and projects group and to the firm.
*The role will involve advising on finance leasing, receivables and debt finance, vendor finance, buying and selling lease books and structuring issues. You will be exposed to a wide range of asset types, including rolling stock, aviation, marine vessels, commercial vehicles, energy and industrial plant, telecommunications and medical equipment, and IT hardware.
*The role will also provide opportunities to collaborate with AG’s wider teams and to work with clients across the transport and energy sectors (among others). You will be expected to contribute to the team’s reputation for excellence and to support the continued growth and success of the practice.
*The team is very collaborative, and the role is to work cross office with the team members drawn throughout the firm for well-known clients on high profile deals.
*Strongly encouraged to take responsibility for business development both engaging directly with client contacts at networking events and by providing training.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*You are a qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE and experience in asset finance and ability to advise both financial institutions and borrower clients on a range of asset finance matters, including operating and finance leasing, receivables finance, debt finance, and vendor finance.
*A real and genuine interest in this area and be keen to grow that knowledge in a proactive way.
*Adept at in building and nurturing strong client relationships, as well as with internal stakeholders.
*A keen intellect and a commercial mindset. Ability to demonstrate the provision of pragmatic and tailored advice in a way that supports internal and external clients alike.
*The ability to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
*Be inquisitive and want to understand our clients, their drivers, and what matters to them, so that your advice has quality, imagination, and impact.
