Location: Stockport
Pay: £90 - £105 per day
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our agency and work across secondary schools in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play a key role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and engaged. You will not need to plan lessons, but you will deliver pre-prepared work and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher – this role is ideal for graduates, teaching assistants, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants to gain classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise lessons across a range of subjects in secondary schools.
*Ensure students complete the work set and maintain a positive learning environment.
*Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
*Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and any issues.
*Support the wider school community when required.
Requirements
*Strong communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to manage groups of students and maintain discipline.
*A flexible and proactive approach to work.
*Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable).
*A degree or relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
