Criminal Senior Paralegal
We are working with a well established and highly regarded criminal defence firm based in London, who are seeking a Criminal Senior Paralegal to join their experienced and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced criminal paralegal to take the next step in their career within a reputable practice handling a varied and often complex caseload.
The firm is looking for a confident and organised individual who can support fee earners while also taking on increased responsibility across criminal matters.
The Firm
The Criminal Senior Paralegal will join a respected London based criminal law firm with a strong reputation for high quality defence work. The firm handles a wide range of cases, from general crime through to more serious and complex matters, and has built a loyal client base through its professional and client focused approach.
They are known for their supportive team culture and commitment to developing their staff, offering genuine progression opportunities within the practice.
The firm offers a collaborative working environment where senior paralegals are trusted with responsibility and given exposure to high quality work.
This is a full time role with a combination of office based and hybrid working.
The Role
The Criminal team handles a broad range of matters including police station attendances, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court cases, and more serious and complex criminal defence work.
You will support fee earners while also managing aspects of files independently, playing a key role in progressing cases efficiently.
The role will include:
*Supporting solicitors on a range of criminal defence matters
*Preparing case files, bundles and trial documentation
*Drafting statements, correspondence and legal documents
*Attending police stations and courts where required
*Liaising with clients, counsel, courts and third parties
*Assisting with case preparation and progression strategies
*Managing key stages of files under supervision
*Maintaining accurate records and file administration
*General support across matters from instruction through to conclusion
The Criminal Senior Paralegal
The firm is seeking an experienced and proactive individual with a solid background in criminal law who is confident working within a busy and demanding environment.
The Criminal Senior Paralegal will have:
*A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within criminal law
*Strong understanding of criminal procedures and court processes
*Experience supporting on Magistrates’ and Crown Court matters
*Confidence liaising with clients and external parties
*Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*A professional and proactive approach to case management
*Candidates without prior criminal law experience will not be considered.
