On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Financial Crime Advisory Manager - Life Insurance for an initial 9-month contract based in London or Edinburgh. It is a hybrid model.
We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer workplace accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.
Purpose of the role:
This is a management role with day-to-day responsibility for executing activities to enable implementation of the group financial crime risk management framework within the UK Life business.
What you’ll do:
*Risk oversight & challenge: Review and challenge Life EWRA, 1LoD risk assessments, and controls, ensuring actions are tracked and effectively implemented.
*Financial crime governance: Provide independent 2LoD oversight on risk decisioning across Life Client, IFA, and third-party activities.
*Exemptions & breaches management: Track, analyse, and manage exemptions, waivers, breaches, and dispensations, including escalation and mitigation planning.
*Regulatory reporting: Produce MLRO reports, REP-CRIM submissions, and senior management MI in line with financial crime governance frameworks.
*Advisory & compliance support: Provide guidance to 1LoD teams on financial crime policies, UK regulations, and entity registration requirements (e.g., Annex I).
*Controls, training & audit support: Oversee GRC framework adoption (MetricStream), track training completion, and implement actions from audit/assurance findings within the scope of your role or team as required from time to time.
The skills you’ll need:
*Established experience within financial crime and being able to demonstrate deep understanding of the financial crime risks inherent in the insurance sector.
*Strong knowledge of UK financial crime laws and regulations, including AML, Sanctions, ABC and fraud prevention, preferably including in the context of above-mentioned sector.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with senior stakeholders and communicate and explain risk decisions.
