Job Description:
Responsibilities:
*Lead end-to-end due diligence processes, coordinating internal and external experts to assess commercial, financial, operational, and technical risks.
*Structure, negotiate, and execute transactions across venture, growth equity, private equity, and project-finance-aligned investment structures.
*Prepare investment memoranda and lead internal decision-making processes, synthesising complex information into clear recommendations for the Investment Committee.
*Be the gatekeeper on standards of excellence in financial modelling and institutional standard investment presentations.
*Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee, articulating key risks, opportunities, and structuring considerations, and demonstrating in depth knowledge and insight when responding to questions.
*Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout transaction processes, including founders, co-investors, advisors, legal counsel, and technical specialists.
*Draft term sheets and own the firm’s position during negotiation on the detail in legal drafting to appropriately reflect risk reward appetite and mandate.
*Oversee portfolio company performance, monitoring financial, operational, and strategic developments across the investment portfolio.
*Partner with founders and management teams to drive value creation initiatives including growth strategy, product development, pricing, operational improvements, governance, and capital planning.
*Serve as a board member or board observer where appropriate, supporting portfolio leadership teams while ensuring strong governance and accountability.
*Identify and evaluate potential exit pathways, including strategic sales, secondary transactions, and other liquidity events.
*Lead, mentor, and develop investment associates and analysts, setting high standards for analytical rigour, judgement, and professional development.
*Strengthen and institutionalise the firm’s investment processes, including sourcing frameworks, diligence methodologies, and portfolio monitoring and valuation systems.
*Represent the firm within the broader investment ecosystem, including industry events, founder communities, and sector-specific networks.
*Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including strategic planning, hiring, organisational development, managing and implementing tools and processes.
*Champion the use of advanced analytical and AI tools to enhance the firm’s investment sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support capabilities.
Requirements:
*High intellectual standards, genuine curiosity and strong ethical and moral compass at all times.
*Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, science, mathematics, computer science, finance, or economics).
*10 to 15+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, private equity, venture capital, buy-side investment banking, or operating roles in high-growth technology companies.
*5+ years of experience working on direct investment transactions.
*Demonstrated ability to lead investments end-to-end, including sourcing, diligence, transaction structuring, negotiations, and portfolio value creation.
*Strong financial modelling capabilities, including integrated three-statement models and experience modelling venture, LBO, project-finance, or structured-finance scenarios.
*Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop independent investment views in complex and ambiguous environments.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesise complex financial, technical, or strategic topics for diverse audiences.
*Established relationship-building and influencing skills, with experience working directly with founders, management teams, co-investors, bankers, and industry partners.
*Experience managing and mentoring junior team members while maintaining high standards of analytical rigour and judgement.
*Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent investment processes.
*Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity about technology, business models, and financial structuring.
*A deep curiosity with business, technology, trends, and financial structuring, with a track record of self-directed domain learning.
*Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to travel globally.
