Requirements
*QTS/QTLS: Valid Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
*Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with current GCSE exam board specifications.
*Right to Work: Valid documentation to work in the UK.
*DBS: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (on the update service) or willingness to apply for it.
Key Skills*Subject Mastery: An expert-level understanding of the secondary mathematics curriculum.
*Adaptive Teaching: The ability to tailor complex concepts for varying ability levels.
*Data Fluency: Using assessment data to bridge gaps in student knowledge.
*Classroom Management: Maintaining a focused, positive, and safe learning environment.
*Digital Literacy: Proficiency in using educational software and interactive tools.
*Effective Communication: The ability to explain logic clearly to students and parents.
Responsibilities*Lesson Planning: Designing schemes of work that challenge and inspire.
*Instruction: Delivering 18-20 hours of high-quality teaching per week.
*Assessment: Regular marking and constructive feedback in line with school policy.
*Progress Tracking: Monitoring and reporting on student achievement levels.
*Exam Prep: Equipping Year 11 students with the tools needed for GCSE success.
*Form Tutoring: Taking responsibility for the pastoral care of a designated group.
*Parental Engagement: Attending parent’s evenings and providing progress updates.
*CPD: Participating in ongoing professional development and staff meetings.
*Inclusion: Differentiating work to support SEND and EAL learners.
*Curriculum Development: Contributing fresh ideas to the Maths department resources.
