About the Role

Arthur are partnered with a leading syndicate looking to hire a Marine & Energy Liability Underwriter to join an established team.

Key Responsibilities*Underwrite marine and energy liability risks
*Assess risk submissions, pricing adequacy, and coverage structures
*Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients
*Build and maintain strong broker relationships in the London Market and internationally
*Contribute to portfolio strategy, including growth targets and profitability metrics
*Monitor aggregate exposures and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines
*Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and risk teams to optimize underwriting performance
*Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks (e.g., renewables, ESG factors)
Required Skills & Experience*Proven underwriting experience in marine and/or energy liability classes
*Strong technical knowledge of liability wordings, policy structures, and reinsurance
*Experience within the London Market (Lloyd’s experience preferred)
*Strong broker network and relationship management skills
*Commercially astute with strong negotiation capability
*Analytical mindset with sound judgment on complex risks
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
