Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced HGV Workshop Controller to oversee their busy workshop in Reading.

This position requires a professional with proven leadership within a commercial vehicle environment, committed to delivering high standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency. The successful HGV Workshop Controller will play a pivotal part in managing workshop operations, motivating the team, and ensuring profitability.

Duties as a HGV Workshop Controller:
*Lead and motivate the workshop team to meet productivity and quality standards as the HGV Workshop Controller
*Allocate work efficiently among technicians to optimise productivity and profitability
*Drive workshop revenue by maximising labour hours sold and promoting value-added services
*Manage workshop resources, equipment calibration, and ensure compliance with safety regulations
*Maintain strong communication with parts, warranty, and service teams to ensure parts availability
*Oversee documentation accuracy and uphold warranty standards
*Promote a safe working environment, supporting audits and ISO standards
*Foster team development through coaching, training, and performance management
*Support customer service by liaising directly with clients when necessary
Requirements:
*Proven experience as an HGV Workshop Controller or in a similar supervisory role within a commercial vehicle workshop
*Strong leadership and organisational skills, with previous managerial experience preferred
*Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to heavy vehicle workshops
*Familiarity with HGV systems, processes, and industry best practices
*Flexible, proactive, and capable of handling multiple priorities
*Ability to work effectively with a team and foster positive working relationships
