Job Description:
Hygiene Manager
*Annual Salary: Up to £50k (negotiable)
*Location: Leeds
*Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
*Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (flexibility required to support site needs)
Hygiene Manager, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the factory. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will ensure all areas of the factory meet customer and regulatory standards and requirements. This position involves managing a team and working closely with various departments to achieve year-on-year improvements.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the Hygiene Team, including handling holiday requests, absence management, overtime, periodic reviews, recruitment, and issue resolution.
*Work collaboratively with different departments to maintain required hygiene standards.
*Train operational and hygiene staff in best cleaning practices to ensure effective cleaning against the Cleaning Instruction Card (CIC).
*Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure the availability of correct cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment.
*Manage pest control contractors and conduct root cause analyses to implement corrective actions.
*Participate actively in customer and compliance audits.
*Ensure a safe and clean working environment at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in food manufacturing hygiene management.
*Strong leadership and team management skills.
*Familiarity with COSHH, HACCP, audit preparation, compliance, allergens, and pest control.
*Relevant certifications or training, such as M&S Hygiene Course or food safety courses.
*Demonstrable achievements in improving hygiene performance, audits, or other relevant improvements.
*Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
