Temporary HR Advisor
Location: Newbury (office-based with regular site visits)
Contract: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP for approx. 6-8 weeks whilst they recruit on a permanent basis
Hours: Full-time 9.00am – 5.00pm
Reporting to: HR Team / Business Leadership
Driving Licence: Essential
Overview
We are seeking a proactive, resilient HR Advisor to join a small, dynamic HR team based in Newbury on a temporary basis. This is a busy, hands-on advisory role supporting the business across the full employee lifecycle while a permanent HR Advisor is recruited.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys an operational environment, thrives at pace and is confident providing pragmatic HR advice. You will act as the first point of contact for managers, supporting a varied workforce and gaining exposure to all areas of HR.
Key Responsibilities
*Act as a trusted HR Advisor, providing confident, pragmatic guidance to managers and employees
*Support the business across the full employee lifecycle
*Manage a high-volume, end-to-end recruitment process across multiple business areas
*Deliver effective onboarding and support training and development initiatives
*Advise on and actively support employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management
*Support TUPE processes for both incoming and outgoing contracts
*Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice
*Carry out DBS checks for new and existing employees
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems
*Build strong relationships with operational teams, attending regular site visits
About You
*CIPD qualified or working towards (Level 5 preferred)
*Previous experience in a hands-on HR Advisory or HR Generalist role
*Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
*Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
*Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
*Practical, solutions-focused and willing to roll up your sleeves
*Confident using HR systems and databases
*Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites
