Data Cabling Engineer
Birmingham – Onsite
£25,000 - £35,000
VIQU have partnered with an organisation seeking a Data Cabling Engineer to support telecoms installations across hospital sites in Birmingham. This Data Cabling Engineer role offers a mix of BAU and project work, ideal for a hands-on individual looking to grow within a stable environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Terminate data outlets and patch panels to a high industry standard
*Test structured cabling systems using a Fluke DTX 5000 tester
*Accurately document installation activities and test results
*Install and configure wireless access points across hospital sites
*Support fibre cabling projects and gain exposure to additional technologies
*Work collaboratively on-site (no lone working)
*Adhere to CSCS/ESC regulations and strict health & safety standards
Key Requirements
*Valid CSCS or ESC card (essential)
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in data cabling or telecoms
*Proven experience in terminating, installing, and testing structured cabling systems
*Eligible for DBS clearance (processed by employer)
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Birmingham sites
*Based in or able to commute to Birmingham
*Reliable, proactive, and trustworthy approach to work
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
