Stock Controller

Cast UK is delighted to be partnering with a market-leading distribution business as it continues to grow its Stock Planning function. We are seeking a highly organised, detail-focused Stock Controller to join a fast-paced and collaborative team, playing a vital role in maintaining product availability across a diverse and expanding range.
The Role
As a Stock Planner, you will take full responsibility for maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring availability targets are consistently achieved. You will support the wider business through accurate planning, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving.
Working closely with suppliers, operations, transport, and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure stock is managed efficiently and flows seamlessly through the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
*Liaising with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are delivered on time and in full
*Monitoring product availability and ensuring performance consistently meets agreed business targets
*Managing stock levels in line with agreed cover, supporting working capital objectives and minimising excess stock
*Analysing stock holdings to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock (SLOB) and recommending appropriate action
*Working closely with Buying, Stock, Operations and Sales teams to maximise availability and service levels across the business
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of the Stock Planning function


About You
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with strong administration and communication skills, confident working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Ideally, you will have:
*Previous experience in a Stock Control or wider supply chain environment
*Strong Excel and systems skills, with the ability to analyse data and present clear insights
*A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
*Good commercial awareness and a solid understanding of stock management principles
*Experience with FOB importation (desirable)
You will also demonstrate behaviours aligned with high performance, customer focus, and strong communication, in line with the competency framework for the role.
