Job Description:
Role: IT Support Technician
Location: Northampton
Salary: Up to £34,000 + benefits
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We’re working with a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Northampton, looking to add a new IT Support Technician to their expanding team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with proven support experience who enjoys a varied role, taking ownership of issues and working across both 1st and 2nd line support in a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
You’ll provide a mix of 1st and 2nd line support to a broad client base, handling everything from user issues through to more complex technical troubleshooting, with opportunities to further develop your technical skillset.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1st and 2nd line support via phone, email, and remote tools
*Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of IT issues across user and infrastructure environments
*Manage and prioritise support tickets in line with SLAs
*Support Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and Active Directory
*Assist with server, network, and infrastructure-related issues
*Monitor backups and security tools, escalating where required
*Support hardware builds, installs, and configurations
*Maintain clear documentation and ticket updates
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role (ideally within an MSP)
*Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, and user environments
*Exposure to Active Directory, networking, and server support
*Excellent communication and customer service skills
*Ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively
*Full UK driving licence (preferred for occasional site visits)
*Based within commuting distance of Northampton
Desirable Skills:
*Networking knowledge (VLANs, firewalls)
*Experience with backup and security solutions
*Microsoft 365 migrations or administration
