Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a heavy engineering company near Barnsley to recruit a Head of Engineering.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on developing a team of multi-skilled engineers, standardising design processes, driving performance, and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide strong leadership to a multi-disciplinary team
*Standardise and optimise design processes, ensuring alignment with BOM structures and the ERP system
*Rationalise current engineering practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality
*Lead cross-disciplinary design review meetings and drive lessons learned implementation
*Take hands-on ownership of design process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
*Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, and ISO standards
*Review and implement new technologies and design tools to maintain competitive advantage
*Deliver projects against deadlines within a fast-paced, bespoke engineering environment
We are keen to speak with Engineering Managers / Head of Engineering with the following:
*Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
*Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles
*Experience working with heavy, bespoke machinery or complex engineered products
*Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams
*Demonstrated experience delivering results against deadlines
*Hands-on leadership experience with the ability to grow and shape a team
*Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching engineers
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
