Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant – Permanent – based in Northamptonshire, NN6
Job Purpose:
We are recruiting for an experienced, organised, and motivated Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant to join a small and supportive finance team.
Based between Kettering, Wellingborough, and Northampton, this role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their finance career within a well-established business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
*Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies
*Reconcile supplier statements and investigate variances
*Assist with supplier payment runs
*Handle supplier queries professionally and efficiently
*Maintain accurate purchase ledger records
*Support the wider finance team with administrative tasks
*Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and controls
Person Specification:
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Reliable and able to manage workload effectively
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
*Proactive and able to work on own initiative
*Team player with a flexible and positive approach
*Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience:
*Previous Purchase ledger experience (essential)
*Strong working knowledge of accounts payable processes
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
*Experience with Sage is desirable but not essential
Hours of Work:
*Monday – Friday (standard office hours)

*Office based - in person
