Overview
An experienced Front End Engineer is required to support a high-profile programme within a secure environment. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering modern, responsive user interfaces, working closely with cross-functional teams and end users.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop modern, responsive front end applications using React and TypeScript
*Build real-time, data-driven features (e.g. WebSockets / SignalR)
*Collaborate with engineers, architects, and users to define and deliver requirements
*Contribute to scalable, maintainable front end architecture
*Integrate UI components with APIs and backend services
*Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
*Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos)
*Work with user researchers to translate user needs into technical solutions
*Support containerised environments as part of the wider platform
*Produce clear documentation and prototypes
Key Skills
*Strong JavaScript and front end development experience
*React (or similar frameworks such as Vue or Angular)
*Experience building responsive, user-focused interfaces
*Real-time data handling (e.g. WebSockets)
*Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
Desirable Skills
*js (tooling or full-stack exposure)
*Nginx or similar web servers / reverse proxies
*Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
*AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
*Bash or PowerShell scripting
*Understanding of databases and API integrations
*Experience within defence or secure environments
