Job Description:
Part-Time Temporary Bookkeeper
Location: Christchurch (BH23)
Contract Type: Part-time, temporary (with potential to grow)
Hours: Initially 1–2 days per week (exact hours to be agreed), with the expectation that hours may increase over time as the role develops.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Temporary Bookkeeper to support our Finance Department, which currently consists of a Finance Manager (36 hours per week) and an Accounts Assistant (14 hours per week). This is a newly created role offering flexibility and the opportunity to grow alongside the business.
The successful candidate will provide bookkeeping support, ensure accurate financial records, and assist with day-to-day finance and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
*Entering financial transactions into Sage Accounts
*Processing receipts and expenses
*Processing a small volume of supplier invoices each month
*Assisting with the sales ledger, working alongside the Accounts Assistant
*Managing petty cash
*Supporting with general finance-related administrative tasks
*Assisting with ad hoc office administration as required
Skills & Experience Required:
*Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance support role
*Essential: Experience using Sage Accounts
*Desirable: Experience with Sage Payroll
*Good understanding of bookkeeping principles
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Well-organised with the ability to manage workload independently
*Confident communicator, both written and verbal
