Job Description:
Role: Course Manager – Horticulture
Location: York
Working Pattern: Full time
Salary: £34,700
Required: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a designated portfolio of Horticulture courses
• Ensure full compliance across all elements of the Study Programme
• Oversee quality processes including moderation, IV and liaison with awarding bodies
• Support curriculum planning, timetabling, recruitment and departmental operations
• Deliver high-quality teaching (practical and theory) to Horticulture learners
• Complete administrative tasks including attendance, registers, marking and reporting
• Support events such as enrolment, interviews, open evenings and taster days
• Liaise with students, parents, employers, awarding bodies and internal college teams
• Promote high expectations, safeguarding, equality and best practice in Health & Safety
The college is specifically looking for candidates with:
• Strong vocational Horticulture background
• Teaching experience in Further Education (or willing to work towards PGCE/CertEd)
• Experience managing or coordinating FE courses (desirable)
• Understanding of quality processes: IV, moderation, assessment, Study Programme
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead on curriculum improvements
