Locum Civil Litigation Legal Officer
Local Authority – West Midlands
£40 per hour (Umbrella)
Full-Time | 3–6 Month Contract (Likely Extension)
Hybrid Working – 1–2 Days per Week Onsite
A well-established local authority in the West Midlands is looking to appoint a Locum Civil Litigation Legal Officer on a full-time basis.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a mixed civil litigation caseload, with a strong emphasis on debt recovery matters. The role sits within a supportive legal services team and requires the ability to handle files independently while working collaboratively with internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a varied civil litigation caseload
*Handling debt recovery litigation from pre-action through to conclusion
*Drafting pleadings, legal documentation, and correspondence
*Providing clear and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders
*Attending court and hearings where required
About You
*Demonstrable experience in civil litigation
*Debt recovery experience highly desirable
*Previous local authority experience advantageous but not essential
*Confident working autonomously and managing competing deadlines
