Job Description:
Estates Group Decorator
*Annual Salary: £29,455 + benefits
*Location: Multi-site across Rotherham College, Dearne Valley College, Rotherham & North Notts College (Worksop), and other Group subsidiaries
*Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)
Join our team as an Estates Group Decorator and contribute to maintaining and enhancing the appearance, safety, and functionality of our buildings across all campuses. This role requires flexibility, effective time management, and regular travel between sites.
Day-to-day of the role:
Painting & Decorating
*Prepare surfaces correctly by cleaning, sanding, filling, and removing old finishes.
*Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to internal and external surfaces using various techniques.
*Install internal and external vinyl coverings and deliver specialist finishes to a high standard.
*Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
*Develop and manage a rolling programme of decorating works across all sites.
Site Maintenance & Support
*Carry out planned maintenance work and respond to reactive repair requests.
*Undertake sealing and mastic work in various settings.
*Assist with general estates tasks, such as exam setups and furniture moves.
Health & Safety
*Comply with COSHH regulations and maintain a clean workspace.
*Erect and use scaffolding, towers, and working platforms safely.
*Adhere to all health and safety procedures and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Proven experience in painting and decorating with a recognised industry qualification (e.g., NVQ).
*English and Maths at Level 2 (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards.
*Knowledge of health and safety practices, including COSHH.
*Ability to work methodically, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*Flexible approach to working across multiple sites.
*Full, clean driving licence.
