Interim Senior Public Health Analyst (Public Health Advanced Practitioner/Intelligence)
Based in Berkshire, hybrid
Length: 2 months

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Public Health Advanced Practitioner to lead the Public Health Intelligence function of a Local Authority.
This is a pivotal role where you will transform complex data into meaningful insight, helping to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for our residents. You’ll work at the heart of decision-making, influencing strategy across the Council and wider health and care system.
Key Responsibilities include:
*Leading the development of Public Health Intelligence across the borough
*Managing and delivering complex analytical programmes and projects, turning data into actionable insight that shapes public health decisions
*Producing and overseeing key intelligence outputs such as:
*Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)
*Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)
*Other health needs assessments including APHA
*Ensuring robust data governance, including secure handling of sensitive datasets
*Driving a data-driven culture, promoting best practice in analysis, modelling, and visualisation
*Leading and mentoring a small team of practitioners
*Building strong partnerships across the Council, NHS, and regional networks
Experience and knowledge required:
*Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. public health, statistics, health sciences)
*Strong experience in public health intelligence or health data analysis
*Expertise in statistical and analytical techniques for large datasets
*Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and information security
*Postgraduate qualification in public health, epidemiology, or similar
*Experience with tools such as R, SPSS, SQL, Power BI, or GIS tools
