Fire Risk Officer | £43,443 | South / South West (Field-Based)
We are recruiting for a Fire Risk Officer to join a well-established organisation within the housing sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong fire safety experience looking for a flexible, field-based role.
Location
Field-based across the South / South West (Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall)
Occasional travel to London (1–2 times per month)
No fixed office location – flexible working when not on site
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out fire risk assessments across residential buildings, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and supporting the wider business with expert advice.
Key duties include:
*Conducting fire risk assessments in line with PAS 79
*Inspecting buildings and communal areas to ensure compliance
*Producing detailed reports and action plans
*Liaising with Fire Authorities, contractors, consultants and Local Authorities
*Reviewing third-party fire risk assessments
*Supporting fire safety training and internal guidance
What We Are Looking For
*Experience carrying out fire risk assessments and producing reports
*Strong knowledge of fire safety within a housing environment
*Understanding of fire safety legislation and compliance
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
*Fire Risk Assessment / Fire Safety qualification (IFE or equivalent) – essential
*NEBOSH (or equivalent) – desirable
Additional Info
*Full driving licence required
*37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
*Business casual environment
