SAP ABAP Developer
Newcastle upon Tyne – Hybrid/ 3 days in office

We are looking for a passionate SAP ABAP Developer to join a collaborative and forward-thinking technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support resilient, scalable, and secure SAP solutions that deliver real business value.
Working as part of a business-aligned squad, you will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, contributing to systems used at scale.
Key Responsibilities
*Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP solutions
*Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, promoting best practices and quality standards
*Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
*Take ownership of development work and deliver measurable impact
*Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring system reliability
*Conduct root cause analysis and implement improvements
*Work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders
*Contribute to a positive, adaptive, and collaborative team culture
*Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
Skills & Experience Required
*Strong experience in ABAP development (procedural and object-oriented)
*Solid knowledge of Data Dictionary
*Experience with:
*ALV Reporting
*User Exits and BADIs
*Strong understanding of application design and development principles
*Knowledge of performance, scalability, and extensibility in high-volume systems
*Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Experience working in Agile environments
*Knowledge of SAP BTP and CI/CD pipelines (including automated testing)
*Experience with:
*SAP Forms (Adobe Forms and SmartForms)
*RESTful ABAP development
*CDS Views
*API implementation and SAP Gateway
*SAP UI5
*Familiarity with retail or high-volume transactional environments
