Job Description:
Job purpose: Summarise the overall purpose of the role – the main reason(s) it exists.
*To reduce the time, it takes to get assets into a facility to be worked on using inside knowledge of the sites and UU directory without the need for scheduling.
*To ensure smooth, efficient pick-up and delivery of assets from any locations required within the UU geographical area, aiding the Asset Refurbishment Workshops in providing great customer service to operations.
*In-source and as a result reduce operational costs of getting assets transported around the UU region.
*To support the Pump Fitter and Winder role in the workshops carrying out manual unskilled labour, reducing the repair cycle time of assets allowing the Pump Fitter and Winder to focus on the technical aspect of rebuilds and strip-downs of assets
Main responsibilities: Key areas of the job and how you test successful delivery of the accountability (in addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required)
*To undertake manual labour tasks within the workshop to support the other roles
*Load and empty the workshop oven as and when required
*Assist Pump Fitters by cleaning and preparing parts to a high standard to allow asset assembly/inspection
*Responsible for storage and movement of parts throughout workshop during repair cycle including pallet truck and forklift operation
*Spray paint final assembly to provide professional finish
*Collect, deliver assets to our operational teams upholding H&S standards and acting as an ambassador for Refurbishment Services
*Assist operations if needed in emergency with lifting and transportation of assets to internal or external workshops
*To comply with Safety and Health regulations and internal Company policies
*To deliver high driver safety scores and mitigate risk of long spells driving for the business
Skills, qualifications and experience: Summarise what is needed for the job to be delivered competently and effectively. *To demonstrate practical experience working in an operational/workshop environment
*A good understanding of Environmental Regulation in the Wastewater Industry and lifting regulations
*Knowledge of and practical experience working with Water and Wastewater assets
*Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
*Significant driving experience
Qualifications:
*Able to ensure that throughout your career the required skills and competency are maintained
*A valid driving licence is essential
*Forklift Truck License
