Job Description:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated, resilient and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
The RoleAs a HLTA within a PRU setting, you will:
*Deliver engaging small-group and 1:1 learning sessions
*Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
*Lead lessons in the absence of a teacher and follow tailored schemes of work
*Implement behaviour-support strategies and de-escalation techniques
*Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals
*Help create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:
*Experienced working with challenging behaviour or SEMH (school or care backgrounds welcome)
*Confident leading learning and supporting differentiated activities
*Patient, emotionally resilient and able to build positive relationships
*Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to improving pupil outcomes
*Qualified at HLTA level or experienced as a Senior Teaching Assistant/Unqualified Teacher

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
